Best Picture
Avatar- Probability of Winning: A (Definitely not the best film of the group, but everyone seems to cum over it’s special effects and it’s supposed groundbreaking status. We really liked it, but Precious should win.)
The Hurt Locker- PoW: A (Clearly a two way race between Avatar and The Hurt Locker.)
The Blind Side- PoW: D- (Good film, but it really has no chance and does not deserve to win.)
District 9- PoW: F (We loved this film, but if voters are going to vote for a sci-fi pic, it’s gonna be Avatar, not District 9.)
An Education- PoW: D (People seem to love this film, we thought it was good at best. We loved Carey Mulligan and where is Peter Saaaarsgaaard’s nominee for supporting actor. Two great performance in an otherwise decent film.)
Inglorious Basterds- PoW: B (A surprisingly great film, just doesn’t have enough momentum as Avatar.)
Precious- PoW: A- (Next in line after Avatar. We think it’s a far greater film, but not sure if voters do.)
A Serious Man- PoW: F (Not a chance.)
Up- PoW: C+(We loved this film. It should likely win best animated picture, but best film? Not likely.)
Up In The Air- PoW: A- (This and Precious are practically neck and neck for 2nd place, we think Up In The Air could possible beat Avatar.)
Best Actress
Sandra Bullock – The Blind Side- Probability of Winning: A (Voters love her this year and you know they want her over Meryl this time.)
Helen Mirren- The Last Station- PoW: C- (Great actress but practically no buzz and a movie most people haven’t heard of certainly won’t give her the win.)
Carey Mulligan- An Education- Pow: C (Great performance but she’s young and there’s no chance she’ll win over Sandra or Meryl. Hopefully we’ll see her again.)
Gabourney Sidibe- Precious- PoW: B (The best performance by far, but voters seem to be stuck on Sandra. Not really sure why.)
Meryl Streep- Julie and Julia- PoW: A- (Clearly the best actress overall, but an imitation of a woman we already know, isn’t going to win against Sandra.)
Jeff Bridges- Crazy Heart- PoW: A (We don’t think his performance was as good as Colin Firth’s, but all the buzz is around him. He’ll likely win in the same vein as Mickey Rourke did last year with The Wrestler.)
Morgan Freeman- Invictus- PoW: C- (Great actor, obviously, but this movie sucked a tit and his performance wasn’t that much of a stretch. Definitely does not deserve to win.)
George Clooney- Up In The Air- PoW: A- (Basically George Clooney always plays some version of himself. This time, he plays the best version of himself he could play in a movie. We loved this film, but George is a little one note.)
Colin Firth- A Single Man- PoW: B+ (Our favorite performance of the bunch, but there seems to be too much buzz over Jeff Bridges for Colin to get any votes.)
Jeremy Renner- The Hurt Locker- PoW: D (Who?)
Best Supporting Actress
Mo’Nique- Precious- PoW: A (Hands down, Monique should and will win. One of the best performances we’ve ever seen.)
Vera Farmiga- Up In The Air- PoW: C- (While adequate, any actress could have played this role.)
Anna Kendrick- Up In The Air- PoW: B+ (Cute as a button in this film. She was good, but once again, somewhat replaceable.)
Penelope Cruz- Nine- PoW: B- (We’re not really sure why she’s even nominted for this. She was good, but nothing extraordinary.)
Maggie Gylenhaal- Crazy Heart- PoW: C+ (We love you Maggie and thought you were great in here, but the fact that you are nominated over Julianne Moore in A Single Man is shockin to us, not that we don’t think your one of the best actresses of our generation. It’s just not your time.)
Best Supporting Actor
Christopher Plummer- The Last Station- PoW: D (Not.a.chance.)
Matt Damon- Invictus- PoW: D+ (Boring performance in a boring movie. Not a chance.)
Stanley Tucci- The Lovely Bones- PoW- B+ (Good performance by a good actor in a decent film. Not really thinking he’s going to win over Christoph Waltz.)
Woody Harrelson- The Messenger- PoW: B (Probably the most affecting film of the bunch, his performance was pretty great, but not great enough.)
Christoph Waltz- Inglorious Basterds- PoW: A (We thought this guy should win the Oscar before there was any buzz surrounding him. So we’re thrilled he’s nominated and is the current front-runner. This movie is worth seeing just for his performance alone.)

haha, Clooney is so crazy! I love him.
