6. Phillip Phillips | Fat Bottomed Girls and The Stone
Is this guy ever going home? Fat Bottomed Girls was so cliche and off key it was painful. The Stone was a blatant mimicry of Dave Matthews it was almost cheating. How has this guy never been in the bottom?
5. Elise Testone | I Want It All and Bold As Love
I Want It All was sensational in its own strange Elise way. Bold As Love was just that, extremely bold. I’m not sure it was the best song choice or really showcased her voice that well, but it definitely screamed Elise. At least there was no fan.
4. Skylar Laine | The Show Must Go On and Tattoos On This Town
Both were flawless. The Show Must Go On was epic in scale and extremely powerful (yea, JLo said the same thing.) Tattoos On This Town, while less captivating, was still just as good in a toned down country Skylar way.
3. Hollie Cavanagh | Save Me and The Climb
There was something extremely creative and unique about Save Me. I honestly didn’t think Holly had something like that in her. The Climb was basically her way of telling everyone how she’s feeling right now in the competition, and I really can’t fault her for it. She sounded beautiful.
2. Jessica Sanchez | Bohemian Rhapsody and Dance With My Father
The only thing better than one Jessica is four, one on stage and three floating heads in the background. I thought this was about to be a trainwreck, but she pulled it off wonderfully. Girl rocked it. Her performance of Dance With My Father literally gave me goosebumps. It was heart wrenching, and thankfully took the stain away from the same song performed by that guy who got kicked off earlier in the season.
1. Joshua Ledet | Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Ready For Love
I’ll just declare it now, Ready For Love might be the best performance of this entire season. I really worry Joshua won’t make it in the music industry, in fact, I bet he wouldn’t. But holy crow, it really is a privilege watching this guy week after week. He deserves the final three, at least. And more importantly, he deserves to have a long lasting career in music.
